Microsoft have just announced that there is a major security threat that they are working on a patch for, in the meantime the advice is to be very careful which websites you go on or use a different browser.
Personally I would recommend right clocking on the internet explorer icon on your desk top going down to properties and on the options tab click on delete, then delete all in the box that comes up tick delete files and settings stored by add-ons, and clicking yes. That should at least get any stored passwords out of it.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.

most things that attack your computer need an element of Windows to work, Firefox doesnt use windows so is much safer. I also think it gives you a better internet experience.
Had it for some time Mike, though the word it that it may have problens too at the moment, Microsoft are saying that other browsers may have problems too. I would recommend being very careful untill the scare is over.

ReplyDeleteI loaded Chrome but now Adobe Flash wont work. Anyone have more probs with Chrome that IE? Im not sure if its better to at least be able to do things with IE rather than have things not working on Chrome.
ReplyDeleteBertie sounds like you need to update and run your virus checker, it is also very important to do your windows updates.
ReplyDelete10.35 two thoughts here some computers just don’t seem to like some browsers and I believe you will find you may have to uninstall and reinstall some add-ons when you change browser.
Ken will try it on one of the computers sometime.
