They are (or were) listed on an IWM hosted register of 'Defence of the Realm' military installations which affords them the same protection as EH listing.<br /><br />The winding motors and most of the equipment are as installed in 194? (need to check myself) and are an amazing time capsule, despite the cladding which is most certainly asbestos!<br /><br />You could find out all about it if the museum was open and had any of its knowledgeable staff...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
