Back on the internet

We lost our internet connection on Sunday evening, I believe it was because aol had a security update and decided only to support modem routers that it had supplied. Anyway the thing has just arrived in the post and I have managed to get one computer back online so I will catch up with my emails and blogging over the next few days.

  1. Hi Michael,
Can you throw any light on the 'Iron Duke' and the elusive 'lantern' please?

  3. I will try to shed some light on the light last I heard was Broadstairs tried to knick it, but I may have remembered wrongly.

I got zapped by my ISP and am still trying to get all the computers in the building back on line and the printers back on the network, with four children a publishing business and bookshop it’s a lot of equipment, some of which doesn’t want to talk to the other bits.

  5. If you need a friendly local "geek" to talk the equipment into playing nicely with each other feel free to drop me a line.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
