TDC IT Councillors internet presence gone

I just received the following from a reader:

“Not that I'm a suspicious person but.....

TDC's website won't let you access any councillor's details so no-one can e-mail/phone/write to unless via TDc's offices.

Coincidence? Any chance you could put this on thanetonline blog? Obviously you'd check in advance that any fault(?) had been corrected!!”

Ed, You just get the error message below however should you need to contact a councillor I published up their contact details last time this happened at http://www.michaelsbookshop.com/tdc/councillors_revised.htm please let me know if it needs any revisions.

  1. I tried to get through to the Council this morning too. Yes, you couldn't contact any Cllrs. but everything else on the website was working fine.

We can be forgiven for thinking the worst after the fiasco in the Chamber on the 9th October.

I would also like to know why members of the public were turned away when 12 seats were taken up by the Developer plus his entourage and the press. To be fair the press tried to sit at a table but were asked to move to the public seating!

I would also like to know why members of the public were forced to queue outside the building in accordance with the 5.30 deadline for entry published on the TDC website, yet Commercial Group Properties and their cronies were already seated when we were allowed in. Anyone still think we live in a democracy.

  2. Interesting that - Michael how will we find out who the 10 were with courage - how can we find out how our ward councillor voted - in our case i have a pretty good idea?
Keep up the fight, met interesting people on the steps of the council buildings during the long wait to finally get in and have met more since i display the poster - beginning to believe there are a minority with integrity in thanet, all we need to do is band together!

  5. Have now read S Moores earlier comments - he does seem to have followed it all closely and thought hard over it, to his credit.
Am worried that the developers antics will not be sufficiently kept in check by the planning committee - from the meetings i have attended you have - lack of attention to detail from the chairman and in ability to understand much from other members - ie not up to it so it doesnt bode well for standing up to officers and councillors with vested interests keep rushing them on with out fixing the detail strongly enough?

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
