ROMANS FOR RED NOSE DAY

Thanet district Council press release

Romans will be taking to the streets to raise money for Red Nose Day later this week (Friday 13 March).

Thanet Council’s grounds maintenance team will be dressing as Romans for Red Nose Day and will be raiding Council offices, collecting money from staff for Comic Relief, before heading out around Thanet to collect more money.

The team have a successful record of raising money for charity. Every year, they raise money for Children in Need and during the last Comic Relief, in 2008, they raised a total of £850.

Deputy Chief Executive John Bunnett said: “Our grounds maintenance team not only do a superb job of maintaining our parks and open spaces, but they also do an excellent job of raising money for good causes. They put so much effort into finding unusual ways to get people to put their hands in their pockets for good causes, so if you see any Romans out on the streets of

Thanet on Red Nose Day, please be sure to give generously. Hopefully, if everyone digs deep, then the team can raise a really good amount of money for Comic Relief.”

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
