Ramsgate Shelter Restoration, vote for funding
16 comments:
Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
What a waste of time and money!"
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael for your detailed explanation and assistance.
ReplyDeleteI will refrain from commenting on Anon 16.03 it would be a waste of time and effort. Sad b***tard
Anonymous at 16:03 is a troll.
ReplyDeleteNot the same troll that Simon Moores was referring to?
ReplyDeleteDone that. Now maybe we could muster a few votes for the 1st St Lawrence scout group? http://communityforce.natwest.com/project/690
ReplyDeletemingles4all, Who knows, trolls are trolls.
ReplyDeleteNot a Troll, just concerned that money should be spent on saving lives across the world.. not upon providing replacements to be vandalised
ReplyDeleteI for one have given up giving any money to starving Africans etc, not my problem, any charity I pay to is for use in the UK only
ReplyDeleteCommunity projects are great, but I am not so sure about the shelters, when a lorry knocked down the old shelter opposite the jarvis marina hotel TDC just pocketed the insurance money and didn't repair the shelter.
ReplyDelete23:36 indeed they did, now look at the state of it. Did the Audit Commission investigate no they did not...hence TDC is now tainted goods. Role on the East Kent Unitary body so we can be rid of TDC and be run by a more professional outfit at Canterbury C.C.
ReplyDeleteWe used to be run by Canterbury. That was in mediaeval times. Then it all changed.
ReplyDeletemores the pity Canteterbury cc seem to be very professional , tdc seems to be run by bean counters who like making sure they have more beans than anyone else.
ReplyDeleteCome on John and you other 3 anon's. TDC are the good guys in this, they have provided a 90% grant in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund and facilitated the Ramsgate Society in taking over the shelters to safeguard their future.
ReplyDeleteIt's no use bleating "nothing ever happens in Ramsgate" if you can't even be bothered to vote for £6000 from a BANK to be spent on Ramsgate.
IF YOU ARE TOO BUSY TO VOTE.
ReplyDeletejust email "YES"
to renovateramsgate@gmail.com
We will do the rest
(allow 24hrs and acknowledge 2 emails)
Readit, You have misunderstood me. Perhaps the irony at my 10:07 was unskilled and passed you by. I thought that the mediaeval reference would secure the ironic tone.
ReplyDeleteWhat made you assume that I cannot be bothered to vote for the £6,000.
For what it is worth, I believe that restoring the Shelters is an excellent idea and worthy of praise for those who have organised it. I have even made a donation.
Well done John, keep up the good work. i apologize for my mis-interpretation.
