Westgate Bay Café a few pictures and is Westgate bent day orf ramble
a quick sketch of Westgate Bay Café
photo in situ, apologia to any victims.
picture of my lunch I think this cost about a fiver including a pot of tea that lasted all though lunch and the watercolour and pencil sketch.
The view from the cafe is very good too.
I rather lazily sat in the car and sketched Westgate-on-Sea shopping centre, while shopping occurred, something a bit strange with the vanishing point here, as I would have though the line of the line of the top of shelter in front of the shops would be continuous. I also took the photo below, I usually do this when I sketch something, so I can work out where I went wrong later.
Looking at the photo it would seem that Westgate is in fact bent or something, so I will have to have another look.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
Lol I think Station road is straight as is the local councillor Simon Moores whom I phoned this morning. He is a great guy and I bet he visits his constituents. I wish I lived in Westgate.
ReplyDeleteDon,
DeleteMy Local Councillor lives in the next street and he has never visited me. Yet, that might not necessarily be for political reasons.
If your Councillor is Ian Driver he wll only do personal visits if a TV crew are there
DeleteNo it's not Driver, thank heavens.
DeleteNo salad with that burger?
ReplyDeleteDidnt you realise becaause the cow was grass fed it counts as one of your five a day
DeleteDon,
DeleteI was assiduous in having my five a day. Regrettably, I mistook this for something quite different and I am a regular visitor to specsavers as a result.
Please don't suggest that Westgate is bent, or you will have the TIG on your case.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a visit to the opticians might be in order?
In your photo Westgate does not only look bent but there is also a distinct tilt to the left.
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteIf you fancy an excellent burger at a good price then I suggest the 'Greedy Cow' in Margate old town.
John I have already done two posts covering the very good food at the Greedy Cow, I am limited on this one by only having one lunch on my day off. At this time of year it is also good to have a decent view from inside, which surprisingly few places in Thanet offer.
