The Turner Contemporary Art Gallery Drops a Brick.

Carl Andre, the brick man of art will be having an exhibition at The Turner Contemporary Art Gallery in Margate, starting from the beginning of next month.

Andre is famous for selling an art exhibit to The Tate Gallery in London that consisted of some bricks.

I guess The Tate had the last laugh with that one as the bricks are worth over a million pounds now.

The next few days are the last chance you have to see the Alex Katz exhibition at the gallery in Margate.

After that as far as I can see the majority of the gallery will be closed for the rest of the month.

The gallery calls this Spring exhibition installation period15 January 2013    - 31 January 2013 you can check this on their website http://www.turnercontemporary.org/exhibitions

I was tentatively wondering if I could get away with closing my bookshop in Ramsgate for this long, but I think the local readers would get withdrawal symptoms. a different sort of art I suppose

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
