Drawing somewhere in the Adams Family of authors

This is perhaps to do with the art of Fantastic Fiction, the idea being to sketch very small likenesses from the also very small pictures on Fantastic Fiction website http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/

The end I have in mind is that when I am out and about sketching the people, very small, in my sketches so they will look better, perhaps in some cases be recognisable. Today I have moved up the ladder from pencil to pen. Pros and cons here but sketching out and about, I think the technical term here is “plein air” means it is very difficult to use fixative which stops the pencil from smudging.

I won’t bore you with the miles of authors whose names being with A that have got me as far as Adams, but here are a couple of sheets from today which I think show both how badly and how well things are going.

I clipped a 50p on to one of the sheets so you can see what I mean about small size, clicking on the pictures and then clicking on them again should make them considerably bigger than they are in reality.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
