Sketching sketching in Canterbury, some old Margate and Ramsgate stuff and so on

 This Margate bathing picture from 1908 makes me wonder just how all this equipment was used, I assume the horse somehow pulled the platform on wheels into the sea and people bathed from it. Obviously this is different from using a bathing machine and I assume the people on the platform weren't going to bath in suits and hats. Anyone got any ideas?
 Here in Ramsgate photographic art was available, something link Photoshop do you think?

Bookshop wise, here is the link to the books that went out on Saturday http://michaelsbookshop.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/all-hell-let-loose-in-bookshop.html

I was technically speaking shopping in Canterbury today and having arrived at Chocolate Café, bagged window seat, connected to the wifi to enable me to view pictures of said shopping taken by people shopping in a more physical way I started to sketch the tables and chairs outside Deakin’s.

There are a lot of mistakes that you can make trying to sketch tables and chairs from an upstairs window and as you can see I manage to make most of the to a lesser or greater extent.

In the middle of all this a much hardier individual than I sat down on one of the chairs and started to sketch. Well of course I often say that I hardly ever see anyone else out and about sketching, but now I wonder – as in this case one came into frame, if I am just unobservant;

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
