Bank Holiday Arts Weekend in Ramsgate and Blink in Margate.

The program of events for The Summer Squall festival can be downloaded from this link http://ramsgatearts.org/squall-programme.pdf

The Margate Blink Event website is http://www.blinkmargate.org/

Oddly enough Thanet District Council don’t seem to have anything about either event on their website, which is currently feeding the press release “Don’t lose your vote in 2012” – perhaps they know something we don’t – their top leisure event, promoted on the council’s homepage is, St. Laurence Churchyard Tour on September 3rd

  1. They keep on losing tricks. Its a wonder tourism survives in Thanet if the council do not get behind it and promote it as they should.

  2. Are you really suprised that they are not promoted on the tdc website.????
shame on you leader of the council- shame on you chief executive of the council.
to put it in the venacular its about time you took your heads out of your ****** and did something for the £175,000 the local tax payers are giving you each year.

  3. Why are you so amazed. Local Government throughout the land suffers from a congenital incompetence in its Councillors and their Officials, especially in their Officials. They also lack foresight and courage. In my experience this has always been the case.

  4. The TDC website isn't there just there for tourism, you cannot expect them to promote EVERYTHING that is happening or they will just be there updating the website constantly. It is the same with 99.99% of other council website as they need to cover their statutory duties and tourism isn't one of them.

If I am visiting somewhere I would just google e.g. "Thanet Events" and it will take me to the Visit Thanet where the events are all listed. I wouldn't go to the council website

I'm not local and can't see a problem....

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
