Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
It is odd that you should mention this Michael. For only today I was thinking perhaps the Head of St Lawrence College must be thinking about sending a letter to fee paying parents.
ReplyDeleteDear Parent
Since the Thanet water supply could be poisoning staff and children (and the problem may exist for fifty further years) we are considering relocating school to an area with a healthier water supply.
We would lay off any ancillary staff such as cooks and gardeners locally recruited in Thanet.
Best wishes
PS We have a buyer interested who wants to apply for change of use to a self catering Asylum Reception Commune.
PPS The rumours about an asylum centre have reached certain local ears and we have already been asked to recommend a local carpet supplier.
'Tis indeed difficult to draw conclusions from these figures - there is no data to help us understand where the increase has come from.
ReplyDeleteI hope TDC have a more detailed study on which to base any policy.
In a small road in Ramsgate with only thirty six houses at least five people have lost their jobs although one thankfully appears to be working again this week
ReplyDelete20.30 I can’t find anything on their website, in a sensible world this information would have been one of their main press releases this week, published on their website with links to all of the relevant information. There would also have been a place where people could comment and those comment could be viewed by the public, we have a serious problem and dialogue and the input of local people could very well help to point at solutions.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you things are looking pretty grim for some of the people I know in town centre retail, many of the non-food shops are really struggling, I think the only reason I am doing ok is that my prices are less than anywhere else.
