Natural England's comments on China Gateway

Well another statutory consultee has submitted their comments and I have published them on the web click here to read even great crested newts are mentioned.

My complaint to Thanet District Council, that this information is not appearing on the Thanet planning website, reaches the 10 working days tomorrow, after which I can escalate it to the local government ombudsman.

What a ridiculous way to have to approach such a basic requirement, I have been told that I could study the hundreds of pages of the complete planning folder at Thanet Gateway, barmy!

  1. Michael is the delay in receiving information from the surveys by the developers, which then have to be presented to Natural England again for comment, likely to delay this matter yet another month?

  2. 15.56 as this documentation was sent to TDC nearly a month ago and I have just received it from the EA via Malcolm, it may be that the developers have already done so. It is the lack of properly publishing all the documents promptly that makes it so difficult.

On the TDC planning website this application has only been partly published and in such a way to make it extremely confusing, for instance documents are published more than once with different dates, so it is very difficult to see what is a response to what.

  3. Mmmmm,

This little item extrapolated from the NE response

“Natural England understands that a number of protected species surveys of the application site are currently underway, the results of which are to be submitted as an addendum to the environmental statement. We will defer making comments on the potential impacts of this proposal on protected species until the survey reports are submitted and recommend that the Council does not determine this application until they have been received and comments sought”

Anyone know if the above has happened?

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
