  1. Totally off topic, Michael, but I really see no point in your sidebar link to Tim Garbutt's 'Time for Change' post. Since he does not accept comments on his blog it hardly constitutes part of Thanet's debating forum and, apart from laughs which I think we can find for ourselves if really interested, it serves no useful purpose.

On topic, this looks like a nice colourful exhibition and I will have to see if her indoors will run me down there. Bit poorly for driving myself at the moment.

    1. Not always, Don. Both John Holyer and I have tried in the past to no avail.

  4. Cllr Epp was on the Ann Barnes show last night quietly dozing in the budgetary audience. Best use for the old chap.

    1. The Ann Barnes Channel 4 show was hilarious and no worse a use of tax than TDC.

    2. 2:30, where do you get your crap information. Not only was I happily at home last night with my family, but I really would not give Ann Barnes the time of day. The woman makes a mockery of the post, but this was always the danger when you have civilians masquerading as police. It used to be an offence to impersonate a police office but this woman has made a well paid life style out of it.

  5. Sorry chaps I have been too busy to get involved in blog comments, but the answer goes something like this, if you look at the “Blog List” on the sidebar you will see at the bottom it has a link called “show all” and the local blogs that normally come up and show are the ones where someone has posted recently.

I guess if you look at the expanded list you could find reasons for removing most of the links there and if you were going to use the proviso that the posts on the all of the local blogs I link to had to both make sense or be something that everyone would agree with then there probably wouldn’t be any left at all.

I have just had a look at the blog Time for Change…. And I agree there really isn’t anything there either coherent or meaningful there, it seems to be the outpourings of a conspiracy theorist on the way to being prosecuted for libel.

But it is like the others a local blog and so I don’t see any real reason to remove the link.

    1. Fair enough, Michael, and I suppose an all inclusive list of Thanet blogs should be just that, however bad. On the libel bit, I guess if it was you or I writing such stuff the law suit would follow, but Tim probably gets away with it on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

  8. Peter a couple of thoughts here, who was the protest directed at and how did they react? And of course as a local council taxpayer do you really think in view of what has happened with the port the council should try to buy the airport?

  9. Peter,

    Don't rise to the bait.

The SMA represents all that is good an positive in this sometimes god forsaken island.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
