  2. I think its a blog takeover due to the credit crunch. Watch out Thanet bloggers soon you will be taken over by a power hunry blogger!

  3. One does wonder what sort of person would want to take out a local history blog, perhaps related to closing the museums.

  4. Makes sense. Take out the museums, then all the local history blogs. Make sure you keep your password secure Michael!

  7. Michael, I haven't a clue what has gone on, I have changed my password and my bolg address is now Thanetcoastlife.blogspot.com. I have emailed the Thanet Bloglist administrator that Thanet Coast Life is now Thanetcoastlife.blogspot.com

  8. I think I know what's happened. Somehow you may have selected a new address and some scamp has moved in on the old one. The good news is the scamp has been removed... now to see if blogger.com/Google hand it back?

This is why I keep telling people to host their own...

  9. Tony how did you manage to get the material on the blog back, did you have some sort of backup or did blogger do it for you? I have updated your feed.

Richard I recon the only safe way of preserving local history is published on paper.

The trouble is Matt that blogger has become the standard, like .com like it or loathe it once the computer is signed on I can retain my identity and there is no form to keep filling in, which frankly puts me off posting on non blogger blogs, as does things like word verification.

All I did was sign in using my password and email.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
