Bad day for Thanet blogs

Simon Moors has decided to stop posting on his Thanet Life after a torrent personal abuse. Eastcliff Richard has had his blog hacked and deleted, very mean as a lot of work goes into people’s blogs. So that’s two local blogs that I read out of action which takes a bit of amusement out of the day.

I would recommend that any local bloggers who haven’t already done so change their password making it long and complicated.

  4. It is imperative that ECR is resurrected, it is an indispensable forum & holds people/organisations to account as well as provide a much needed jocular tonic. However one cannot rule out that the vandalism was perpetrated by ECR him/herself, considering the developments & tantrums thrown by the aviator. Incidentally Michael, keep up the good work you are making a great contribution to political debate & celebrating the cultural life of the Isle.

  5. You will nearly all be pleased to know that ECR is in the process of putting up an alternative blog, I am hoping that he will be able to find out how the deletion of his blog was done so we can protect our own blogs.

  6. Thanet blogging is turning into a soap opera but unlike the TV genre there are serious issues (free speech) at stake. I am pleased to hear ECR will be back & I hope Moores (however much I disagree with him) will reconsider & resume Thanet Life.
    Incidently see link:

  7. So now I know where ECR's gone. See mine today: Weds 13.2.08
Let's hope they both get going soon. Come on ECR, give it to 'em...

  8. I am afraid that my suggestions for getting the information on his blog back didn’t work which has rather taken the wind out of his sails, so he is going to take a bit of a break.

  9. I emailed ECR and told him to have a chat with Blogger as they could have his site backed up. Got a reply last night saying he'd look into it, but from your last comment it seems that this has failed. :(

Incidently the link from Eric which got chopped off is here.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
