Watercolour Painting of Minnis Bay this evening and some thoughts about pink

This painting of Minnis Bay is as close as I could get to how it looked this evening

the bit I painted cropped from the photo below, yep a lot to learn here

The photo which I took just as I started seems to have some pink in the sky which wasn't there to the naked eye at this time.

Looking at paintings by professional artists there is certainly more red and pink in the skies than I normally see and I am pretty sure that that the sky I painted was pretty close to how the sky looked, so I am wondering if I should be introducing a bit of red even if I can’t see it.

I was rather taken with the size shape relationship of the windfarm windmills and the people on the shoreline.

just tacked the Pegwell Bay Hotel picture and the one taken on finishing on the end for reference

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
