Click to expand Ramsgate, Broadstairs and Margate photos and a ramble.

Holidaymakers going out for a sea trip on what looks like a Ramsgate fishing smack, probably one of the several different vessels called the Moss Rose.

Leisure sailing boats on Ramsgate's east pier

Broadstairs

I have enhanced this one a bit

Ramble

We went to Deal yesterday, mainly buying books for Michaels Bookshop where I work in Ramsgate, mainly from the Oxfam Bookshop there. This was mostly poetry, literary fiction and philosophy, the demand here in Ramsgate for these subjects is more than the books I get offered by people selling their books to us directly.

Here is the link to the books we put out on Wednesday mostly Billy Bunter and science fiction.

Deal town centre seems to be thriving I think mainly because it wasn't decimated by an out of town shopping centre in the way the Thanet towns have been.
Thames Barge replica Blue Mermaid is in Ramsgate at the moment and well worth a look

Post a Comment

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
