Where are the Thanet District Councillors now?

Up until this election I would say that Thanet district Council was perceived by the people living in Ramsgate as being Margate Council. Talking to customers in my bookshop recently I think this perception has been growing in Broadstairs recently too.

Perhaps most of this relates to the business over Pierremont Hall which used to belong to Broadstairs & St Peters Urban District Council and was taken over by TDC who now want to sell it to Broadstairs & St Peters Town Council for more than Broadstairs & St Peters Town Council can afford.

If you think I got that all confused and muddled up this next bit of the post is asking for trouble and is bound not to add up, anyway there are 56 TDC councillors:

19 live in Ramsgate

11 live in Broadstairs

14 live in Margate and Cliftonville

8 live in Birchington

2 live in Monkton and Minster

See tol you so that's 54 and should be 56

I am off to make a curry now but may ramble on a bit here later

  1. Are some homeless? Personally I can't wait to see what the UKIP run council does. If the TDC councillors behave as my worst fears predict we are in for mayhem in the near future.

  2. Don I don’t think any of them are homeless yet, it’s just my terrible back of a fag packet maths that didn’t add up.

  3. I am not sure what you are trying to say Michael. Are you referring to the newly elected UKIP dominated TDC?

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
