Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
Is this done because it is an advantage to the larger political parties not to do so too early?
ReplyDeleteOf course not.. yeah right!

The Statements of Persons nominated were already to be published when a candidate withdrew so have been frantically trying to get the statements republished.
I have been told it will be going live later on today.
However, I have taken the liberty of attaching all the statements as requested.
Many thanks,
Mark

ReplyDeleteThe CE gets paid a lot of money, yet he can't seem to make sure that a very important democratic task is done.
ReplyDeleteIs there a fishy reason behind this that we don't know?
Leaving aside any perceived ulterior motives for late publication of the lists, as a parish councillor I find that the long lists of candidates from main political parties very depressing. Are there no other Ramsgatonians that care about their town and who would like to help apart from all the tired old political front men (and women)
ReplyDeleteI see Ramsgate First are well represented by their only candidate President, Treasurer and all things to all men Mr. O'Donnell on the Eastcliff - from his outpourings about the interest in local affairs I thought a whole host of candidates from Ramsgate First would be contesting every ward -what a surprise - most of the candidates are from the local District area under the usual banners - what a waste of time and money caused by Mr. O'Donnell's petty politics - may be he should be surcharged for the extra expenses caused in future years to the long suffering Ramsgate council tax payers - shame on his name
