The first one is one of, apparently two different lifeboats called quiver number one
Wikipedia says Between 1866 and 1883, Quiver No.1 was launched 34 times and saved 70 lives. In 1883, the station would receive its second lifeboat from the Quiver Lifeboat Fund, a 37-foot lifeboat again named Quiver No.1, which was launched 68 times, and saved 61 lives, between 1883 and 1898.
I think the first one had 10 oars and the second one 12
The second picture the bombing of the Granville hotel
The next one is Sussex Street in Ramsgate you can see bits of St Paul's church on both sides
The next one Westgate railway station
The next one is the bombing of the air raid wardens post in Camden Square Ramsgate
The next one Margate road winstanley Crescent Second world war
The next one a couple of boats on Margate Harbor arm
The next one garland dairy farm
The next one Dent de Lion
The next one Margate assembly rooms fire in 1882
The next one the poster for the Britannia Yacht
The next one looks like it's probably a lifeboat at sea
And the last two Second world war bomb damage possibly from newspaper articles I'm not really sure
If you want to delve further into WW2 in Thanet, I recommend coming here to Michael's bookshop in Ramsgate where we always have a reasonable variety of books on the subject.
I'm still having issues with Facebook the most recent problem seems to be posting to the Margate archive group. First only the pictures appear, the post itself doesn't appear and then everything vanishes. If you are an administrator for the Margate archive group please have a look at this, alternatively if you don't want me to post there please let me know and will stop.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
