Old Photos Ramsgate Margate and Garlinge

sorry the pictures have gone up backwards

The first two are Vye and Son, one from the late 30s and the other one showing the WW2 bomb damage. Sorry I think I've posted these before.

Next one is Thanet College in Margate.

Next one the square in Garlinge

And then Garlinge High Street

The next one I'm pretty sure this is Palm Bay please correct me if I'm wrong

The next one Ramsgate fireman WW2

The next one Ramsgate fireman in Effingham Street

The next one Wellington Crescent Ramsgate, bandstand during WW2

I think the last three are all Dent de Lion Primary School, classroom dormitory and building. Please correct me if I'm wrong with this one.

Facebook and my various problems of posts not showing,I think I have resolved by only posting to local history groups and not posting to the local chat groups. I got far more response and engagement with yesterday's post than I have for a long time. Also it was much quicker and easier for me to do.

Post a Comment

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
