q 4 where in Thanet
Day off today not at work in the bookshop but doing diy around the flat above, dripping taps and the like today. Here in Thanet the water is so hard that modern taps don't work properly and so we have the old fashioned type, the bath shower mixer tap is like something from a victorian mansion, but taking it all apart, cleaning off the lime scale with a wire brush. lubricating it all with a bar of soap and putting it back together sets it up for another year.

Marine Terrace finishes at the roundabout bringing us to the elephant in the hill/garden complex, I'm a sort of DFL but a bit of a Margatonian having been the chief engineer to the Dreamland Golden Mile Lido wosisname in the 1970s.Technically before the mapmakers called it Marine Gardens they called it Marine terrace. Margatonians seem to call it Elephant hill - The Elephant Hotel was there - The Mechanical Elephant...

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
