Pictures in this post are from 1987, I don't think many people can remember exactly the dates that relate to most of the historic photos that I post.
1997 was a significant year not only for me but also for the rest of the people here in Thanet full stop this was year of the hurricane, so most people over about 40 should have some marker on the road of time..
1987 which year I opened bookshop here in Ramsgate. I wasn't new to Ramsgate, as we had a guest house in Ramsgate from the mid 1960s up until I think bull around about 1980.
Work wise here at Michael's Bookshop we have been topping up the science fiction, fantasy and horror books. For the most part in secondhand bookshops, when one book sells a different title replaces it. We do however have a sore of books and the job is basically take photos of the books in the store, work out which ones aren't on the shop selves and replace them.
This is the link to the photos of the books we put out today
I did go to the Royal Victoria Pavilion aka Wetherspoons for lunch today
I only did a little bit to the watercolour sketch, really just these two
this is just for size and context.Out and about photos, mostly playing with camera settings

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
