Old Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs photos and wosisname

Once again after a day in Canterbury buying books, the lazy approach of photographing a few old photos and putting the content of my camera's sd card on the web with a link to the photos at the bottom of the post, then linking the post to a few Facebook groups.
This will be followed by an evening meal with my wife and some of my children, the others being grown and flown.
I am reading Mary Renault's Alexander Trilogy and keen to have an evening of that, I read the Theseus series in about 1967/8 and remembered them as being very good. I guess I half expected to be disappointed, but I'm not and it is proving a very good read indeed.

note the differences between these two postcards made from the same photo.

This is the link to Today's Canterbury photos

This is the link to the books we put out in the bookshop yesterday Although I think quite a bit of the WW2 collection went out in the 50p section so the books didn't get photographed.

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
