Partly about a pig

The Ramsgate ferry fiasco in in the BBC news again here is the link

If anyone has got a good closeup picture of the glass wind screens on the Wellington Crescent bandstand it would be helpful as the is talk of grant funding to reinstate them.

Back in the 1950s and early 60s we were sill getting our bread delivered in Salisbury.

A better copy of  Sun Cafe aka Eagle Cafe aka Royal Harbour Brasserie, on the end of Ramsgate's East Pier. I would guess around 1939
I think it's all in there somewhere.

A bit of frantic clicking and you should be able to see the screens.

Of course I had no difficulty finding pictures of this one

Also in the BBC news there the car going over the cliff here is the link you don't really expect cars bouncing of your roof in the middle of the night.

 I think this is Margate

One of the construction of the great roundabout

I'm back to work in the bookshop tomorrow after a well earned day off today, out buying books.

this is the link to the photos of the books we put out yesterday

Comments, since I started writing this blog in 2007 the way the internet works has changed a lot, comments and dialogue here were once viable in an open and anonymous sense. Now if you comment here I will only allow the comment if it seems to make sense and be related to what the post is about. I link the majority of my posts to the main local Facebook groups and to my Facebook account, “Michael Child” I guess the main Ramsgate Facebook group is We Love Ramsgate. For the most part the comments and dialogue related to the posts here goes on there. As for the rest of it, well this blog handles images better than Facebook, which is why I don’t post directly to my Facebook account, although if I take a lot of photos I am so lazy that I paste them directly from my camera card to my bookshop website and put a link on this blog.
